I support your pain.
So obviously something very recently has gotten me very upset. And I requested 24 hours to be upset about it. Well during this time period multiple people told me “Don’t feel sorry for yourself.”
I’m sorry, I’m a huge supporter of Pity Parties. So many times I have just tried to not feel sorry for myself and it led to just an uneasiness/guilt that was even more unpleasant than the original problem. It’s amazing how big something can grow when your back is turned.
So, I believe in pity parties. Hell, throw the hugest pity party. Analyze every single second of the problem, then analyze it again. Talk to everyone you know about the problem. Call up your friend from Kindergarten and tell that person about it too. Do not let it rest until you have the entire thing dissected and every single person on this world knows what happened.
And you know what will happen? Eventually you will be so bored and tired of talking about it. Suddenly you will wake up and thinking about that problem again will make you sick. Then you will let it go.
That’s how I get over my problems nowadays. It doesn’t really take 24 hours to get out of that funk, it’s been three days and I’m still working on getting out. But I can tell you this, I felt better today than I did yesterday. Worth it.
